Sitting at the table alongside the beautiful Queens Lossie Davis and Monteria Robinson was an honor that words can scarcely capture. When the incredible Dr. Cynthia shared her desire to honor me, I felt deeply moved, but I knew in my heart that this recognition must also extend to these two powerful women who have turned their unimaginable pain into profound purpose.
This sorority we share—this sisterhood of mothers who have had to bury their babies—is bound by grief, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to making a difference. Monteria’s transformation into an activist, fighting tirelessly for justice after after her son was tragically taken by police, struck nearly 100 times, is nothing short of inspiring. Lossie’s journey across the country, teaching that there is indeed life after the death of a child, following the tragic loss of her son due to a case of mistaken identity, is a testament to the strength that lies within us all.
For me, the loss of my son Chance and my mother within two short weeks propelled me to create the Girls Who Brunch Tour. Their memories fuel my every step, reminding me that our pain, when channeled into purpose, has the power to change lives, turning my heartbreak into a mission to uplift and empower young girls.
Together, we embody the epitome of what it means to rise from the ashes, to transform our deepest sorrow into a legacy of love and impact. I am humbled and deeply honored to walk this path alongside such remarkable women.
