What is a takeaway from Girls Who Brunch Tour
There are thank-you messages… and then there are moments you feel long after the cameras stop rolling. This is one of those.
Thank you, Verlecia Gavin of WLBT Fox 40 in Jackson, for such a beautiful and intentional conversation. You didn’t just ask questions; you created space.
The question that stayed with me, the one that settled deep in my spirit, was:
“What do you want the girls to take away from this event?”
And my answer is simple, but it carries weight:
I want them to know they can be better than me.
Not because I lack anything, but because I’ve lived enough life to know that every lesson, every mistake, every win… is a stepping stone for them to go further.
If we give our girls the right tools, we shift everything:
• Teach them how to name what they feel, not hide it
• Show them how to build confidence, not perform it
• Give them language for their pain so it doesn’t turn into silence
• Surround them with examples of what’s possible
That’s how we raise difference makers, quietly, intentionally, and with love.
Grateful for platforms like yours that allow these conversations to reach the girls who need it most
