The Girls Who Brunch Chicago event was absolutely incredible! While we faced some hiccups and challenges with production, it turned out to be one of the best ones yet. The energy and resilience of the girls made it all worthwhile. Several of them shared with me right on the spot how much they were touched by the experience, reminding me why this work is so important. I truly believe in meeting these young ladies where they are, even when it means going into spaces others shy away from. It’s not always seen as “cool” to go into the hood, but I know that’s where love and inspiration are most needed. We have to meet our babies where they are, so they can see and feel the greatness that’s within them. I’m so grateful to have been a part of their journey.
